Ok so with the assistance of Eric and my new SB buddy Maria I am ready to go. Not sure how this is going to work but I'll give it my all. Just making breakfast and lunch for two of us seemed like I was using all the veggies in the house. As much as I want to diet and get in shape, I need to not spend too much doing so as well with the new house and moving coming!
So today I have little crustless quiches with Canadian bacon and spinach. Along with the celery sticks and I have a jar of peanut butter in my desk drawer. For lunch a big salad with some cheese and turkey. For dinner... we'll just have to see. I'm thinking chicken!
So here I go~!

A New Me!
First a little history about me. My name is Nicole and I am 27 years old. I live in Central Massachusetts with my new husband of two months and my step daughter. Since I was a child I had a high metabolism and was always the "skinny" one. I ate what I wanted and did just fine. Granted I loved salads and fruit and wasn't a big junk food eater. In college about the age of 22 is when I started seeing a weight gain. From size 5 to 7 and going up. But I still maintained at a reasonable size. It wasn't until moving in with my now husband and step daughter that I really gained. Now I was cooking dinner and eating every night. Baking desserts and making meals is something I love to do and eating is the next best thing! Now at a whopping 167.2 pounds I've had enough!
So here I am, 2 month into being married, 15+ pounds more them the big day. I had started my weight loss journey in January of 09. A little friendly competition with the in-laws on who could lose more. Well, I am very competitive so me and the hubby won! Guess what we won? Dinner! Way to top off a weight loss!
After that I joined Spark People (http://www.sparkpeople.com/). Love the website, the meal ideas, trackers and all the support. I even started my own team. I was doing great, logging my food, being careful what I ate, working out. Then the wedding got closer. I got more and more busy and started slacking, big time!
The day of the wedding I had gained since the weeks prior. The dress zipped but it was a close close call. Thank goodness it zipped! What would I have done. I was disappointed in myself. Promising I'd be better. Then the honeymoon, the restaurants, the road trips and all the FOOD!
So we got home and again I promised to be better. But all I did was order take out and cook the way I used to. Never getting back in the work out routine.
So now the pants aren't zipping. I carry the weight well and it's not totally noticeable but my clothes are getting tighter, I've got a tummy that makes me look pregnant (and I'm not believe me, I've checked!), and I'm very uncomfortable with myself.
Today I hopped on the scale after a LONG LONG time. 167.2...WHAT??? That's the MOST I have ever weighed. So holding back tears I got dressed and got off to work.
So here it is my plan....
Starting Monday I'm doing the South Beach diet. No fun for two weeks, and going to be hard, I love my starchy carbs. But after two weeks it doesn't seem so bad. Granted I am not a big veggie eater so along with this diet journey I will learning to like new food! I better or I"ll be very limited! Looking forward to this journey and planning on sticking with it... I'm giving it a good 3 month go at the least.
Also I"m going to start the 100 push up challenge (http://hundredpushups.com/) again. I had started this last spring and was getting great results and getting stronger. then as the other things went, I slacked on this as well.
Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday are strength training days. Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays are Cardio days. 30+ mins each day. Time to kick it up a notch and stick to it!
Monday starts it all so stay tuned!
